Cuckoo Project| Shows | Reviews|Images|Shop|Myspace

As of January 2010 I am embarking on a new exercise which I am tentatively calling The Cuckoo Project (after the song). The general aim is to record a series of traditional folk songs and tunes over the course of the year, each as a collaboration with a different musician, vocalist and/or group. Ultimately these sessions will make up an album (or double album) which we'll perhaps sell to raise money for a local charity, but I primarily want to do this for the sheer enjoyment of it.
The sessions will take place in one of two ways. Those who are local will be
invited to spend a day in our studio; developing, practicing and recording a
pre-chosen piece. Anyone further afield who wants to get involved can work on
a track over the internet providing they have some basic recording equipment
themselves (this is easier than it sounds, but perhaps not as organic or interactive).
I have no idea how well all this is gonna work, but it should be a laugh regardless.
Perhaps like a mini-transatlantic sessions in the Imagined Village?! Well, here’s
hoping!
If you're a folkie who'd like to get involved please send me a message.
I'd love to hear from you :-)
I'll post details below of tracks already recorded as and when they happen.
